Allys Shrimp Description

The Ally's Shrimp salmon fly was created by Alastair Gowan from Scotland, but has been very popular on Irish rivers. There have been many variations of the Allys Shrimp but this is the original and it will take fish all season long.

Hook: Esmond Drury
Thread: Red
Tail: Hot Orange bucktail
Rear Body: Red floss
Rear Body Rib: Oval Silver tinsel
Front Body: Black floss
Front Body Rib: Oval Silver tinsel
Throat: Natural grey squirrel tail
Wings: Under is natural grey squirrel and over is Golden pheasant tippets
Front Hackle: Hot Orange
Head: Red
